Established in 1976, the AFSA is a veteran, non-profit organization with 501-c(19) status that supports its membership of Active Duty, Retiree, and honorably discharged Veterans of the Armed Forces within the skeet shooting community.  Membership is free so we hope that you can join us in promoting safety, fun, and competition within the world of clay target shooting!!

NSSA Director Nomination Information

We are on a short glide path to the 23 April deadline to have nomination forms in for each of our service directors.  Anyone holding the ML or RM concurrent is eligible to be an NSSA service director.  The process is “self-nomination,” with a requirement for five endorsements from your respective constituents.  That means for each service director, endorsements can come from any ML, RM, or MV from that same service.  Put “Zone 9” and the branch of service on the “state/province/territory” line of the form.  I ask each of you to assess your personal and professional situation for the years 2019 and 2020, and submit a nomination if you believe you can serve.  It’s really important to have all of the Zone 9 director positions filled, so that we are representing all of our ML, RM, and MV shooters to the best of our ability.

This will be the first time for election of our two newly approved MV “at-large” directors.  These two positions can be from any branch of service, and their endorsements may be made by any ML, RM, or MV shooters.  If you are an MV shooter and can fulfill the roles and responsibilities of being a national director, to include attendance at the NSSA Director’s Meeting in the fall (usually the Sunday of the Mini-World), please consider stepping forward.  Put “Zone 9 MV at-large” on the line in the form that says “state/province/territory.”  No one person may hold more than one director’s position, so if you’re already serving as a national director in a geographical zone would have to choose just one position to self-nominate for.  You can, however, hold leadership positions in AFSA and NSSA concurrently.
